I posted the latest in a long line of musical “sketches” that I’ve finally come around to finishing. It’s one of those song ideas that started out with the main groove in the intro, and evolved over time to include more instruments, a proper chorus section with horns and flute, and most recently, a future jazz outro that sounds nothing like the first half of the track but which ends the piece smoothly.
I call it “Aramaic” — the ancient language spoken during New Testament days — even though the track has no spoken Aramaic in it, merely a few melodic lines that sound generally Middle Eastern.
One of my friends describes it as a perfect soundtrack to a detective video game with some 1980s flair in it. Another says it’s space lounge music. I like both descriptions. Enjoy!
