In 2006, during a very hot summer, I did the musical score for an independent short film entitled “Puwang” (Space Between) by filmmaker and editor Annabelle “Sunshine” Matutina.
It’s a 30-minute short film about a family coming together to take care of their dying father in a hospital. And I was asked to make music that was minimalist and not overly gushy. I think I did a pretty good job at it, and the story is, in itself, a touching tale of family forgiveness.
The film is part of a screening of seven short indie films now showing in Manila from June 11-17. The show: “Katorse Shorts” is screening at the Robinson’s Galleria Indie Sine.
