Holy Weak is a 5-track EP of original tracks that mix in influences like acid jazz, IDM, house, and breakbeats into a stew of music that is headphone candy.
ABOUT THE ALBUM
This EP was originally released in July of 2004 on a limited-run of independently burned CDRs and sold at my live gigs in Metro Manila.
The music on this EP took one year to finish, was finished during holy week (Easter Triduum) of 2004 and became my spiritual catharsis of sorts. It’s a combination of muzak and lush textured funkiness.
From the EP’s liner notes: “And I’ve finally been able to work past the initial emotional defensiveness to finish these sketches and release them to you. Not exactly in the hopes that you believe in what I believe, but in the hopes that you find your own creative endeavor which exorcises your personal pain.”
I just released the contents of my 2004 EP, Holy Weak, on the Creative Commons music site Jamendo as well as on Bandcamp. This means it’s freely available for download, and can be embedded in websites, blogs and anywhere on the Net. Happy listening!
